Three Waters Project CLICK ON ANY IMAGE TO ENLARGE A team of volunteers helped build the garden. After months of planning and heavy construction, planting day has arrived. It’s not easy working in such close quarters! Newly-planted plants don’t make much of an impression, but just wait… Here you can see the rain garden in relation to the Food Co-op store. There are about a dozen water tanks on the property. We helped install this newest one. Here’s that planting a few months later. A countertop and seats made from local Douglas-Fir wood provide a place for people to enjoy the rain garden. Here’s another look at the counter area. One of the key plants is this native sedge. It likes periodic inundation and looks great. A diverse palette of native plants fills the rain garden with beauty and habitat. Here’s the mature rain garden after less than two years’ growth.
