Why “The Earthworm’s Lair?” The earthworm works beneath the surface of the soil to convert minerals and other elements into a form that is usable to plants. It then delivers this material, in the form of “castings,” to the rootzone where it can be absorbed by roots. Here are the castings, hopefully nourishing, of Owen’s subterranean peregrinations.
