An edging of Liriope surrounds beds of yarrow, iris, penstemon, Santa Barbara daisy, New Zealand flax, and other perennials.The jacaranda tree on the left provides a visual anchor for the perennial beds.Liriope makes a great small edging plant that doesn’t need constant trimming like boxwood or other plants that want to be bigger than the space allotted to them.Many of the plants bloom nearly all year long in the mild coastal climate.Coming out of the house, the view of the plantings below is cheerful.A typical English garden makes use of many colors.
