Backyard Tour de Force CLICK ON ANY IMAGE TO ENLARGE An intimate path beneath stately oak trees leads you into the garden The owner found this suit of armor at an antique store and named it “Sir Rustalot.” These steps were hand-formed of concrete to look like natural stone. A running streambed passes by the outdoor sheltered patio and leads to the pond in the foreground. A roof over the patio creates a lovely sheltered outdoor space. The streambed provides the sound and movement of running water. The running stream offers habitat for birds and insects, and sound and beauty for people. The pond nestles into a formerly unused space outside the living room. The existing lawn was replaced with this meadow of native sedge. It requires little water, fertilizer, or mowing. A staff artist made this small fountain out of a native boulder. BACK TO PROJECT PORTFOLIO
